Casting a Ballot – 2016 Oscars
by Felipe Rosa
The 89th Academy Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, February 26th, 2017. As I have been doing for a few years, after posting my ballots for many guild awards, I post my fictional ballot for the Oscars. These “votes” show who I would like to win; the vote for Best PIcture follows the rule of preferential ballot used in reality. 89th Oscars Animated Short Nominees
by Felipe Rosa
Nowadays, with the exception of the odd animated short that plays before some animated features, it takes some effort to be able to watch shorts (festivals, for instance). Thankfully, the Oscar nominated shorts (in addition to some other selected few) get play (details can be seen here) and can be watched theatrically or online. I truly recommend it, for the variety of stories and styles.
