Going in Style: the main source of pleasure of Zach Braff’s comedy is seeing Alan Arkin, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman acting together; the story is just ho-hum, mildly entertaining but common (not only because it is, after all, a remake, but also because comedies with elderly “misbehaving” are a dime a dozen nowadays). The three are fine, not asked to do much with their characters; the same is true of Ann-Margret, while Christopher Lloyd shows up more with a character geared for the easy laughs. Director of photography Rodney Charters’ images are efficient but nondescript; the comedic score of Rob Simonsen is breezy, but spot-on fun.
