The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: a new visit confirms that, while the action sequences are interesting and exciting, it is the first part, with its political undertones, social critique (both present, but this being a blockbuster franchise, just faintly; still unusual for the genre) and presentation of the world that is the strongest suit of the story. The addition of Philip Seymour Hoffman and Jeffrey Wright to the veteran side of the cast is welcome. It may sound as a backhanded compliment, but this is a good summer-like film.
