The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2: Francis Lawrence’s work picks up where the previous film left off; alas, that means that the action is unexciting and the drama, unengaging, while the story is stretched thin throughout the film in a setting that is more and more generic. The large, interesting cast is not given much to do (a sad result given the talent of Julianne Moore, Jennifer Lawrence and Philip Seymour Hoffman, to pick a few names). It’s visually uninteresting and confusing (the action scenes); gone is the colorful look of early in the series (that it is gone makes sense; that it would become this dull, does not).
