Fifth about The Seventh

Sleeping With Other People

Sleeping With Other People: the protagonist characters in Leslye Headland’s romantic comedy are very much flawed people, but also extremely charming. As it is usual with the genre, this is disposable, but the spicy, fast and loose dialogue and colorful set of minor characters make this entertaining. The cast is fine and doing good work: Alison Brie is lovely, and also able to properly emote; Jason Sudeikis does a good smooth serial seducer; together, they have good chemistry and deal well with the wisecracking dialogue. The supporting cast is equally fine: Andrea Savage and Jason Mantzoukas are very funny together; Adam Scott, serious and dry as a bone. The film has serviceable but unremarkable visuals, even as it captures a charming New York City.
