Maybe a Love Story: the starting point in Rodrigo Bernardo’s romantic comedy is a bit fanciful and cute, but it turns out to be breezy, harmless entertainment. The main character is a collection of cutesy characteristics, but once one buys into his nature and the nature of his quest, the story rolls nicely, even if it is a bit overlong. Mateus Solano is effective in creating his quirky but charming character; the rest of the cast is fine, but the cameo-like nature of most other roles doesn’t really allow anyone to shine with their short roles. The film has good production values, with a nice pair of recurring locations, well-captured by the camerawork of Hélcio Alemão Nagamine.
