The Girl on the Train

The Girl on the TrainThe Girl on the Train: Tate Taylor somehow manages to make a thrillingless thriller, an obvious mystery that does not generate much curiosity and (in spite of how lovely Emily Blunt is) a central character that is hard to care about. Blunt and castmates Haley Bennett and Rebecca Ferguson are given such empty shells of characters to play that they can barely be blamed for the dull, artificial acting; the same goes for the male actors. Charlotte Bruus Christensen’s images have a generic, forgettable look. Danny Elfman’s score is equally uninteresting.
