Truth: James Vanderbilt is competent but unremarkable in the telling of this story. It smartly presents the facts and skirts around the question of who’s right, but it also doesn’t give much space for character nuance or development. Acting is solid, as would be expected with household names such as Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford. Aesthetically, it’s a very square, no-frills film, but that puts the story front and center.
