Casting a ballot – WGA Awards 2015

WGA AwardsWhile it all starts on the page, the Writers Guild Awards is the last guild fictional ballot I’ll post.

Ironic, I know.

The nominees for this year’s award can be seen at their website or IMDb

(Once more, fictional.)

Best Original Screenplay: Josh Singer & Tom McCarthy for Spotlight

SpotlightThere is value in telling a story simply, clearly, without frills; in addition to that Mr Singer and Mr McCarthy are able to maintain a certain level of tension during the whole film.

Best Adapted Screenplay: Aaron Sorkin for Steve Jobs

Steve JobsIt’s a bold choice to have a biopic that is restricted to simply a few days in the subject’s life; that’s exactly what Mr Sorkin did, and one never feels much is missing. In addition, the dialogue is a pleasure to follow.
