Best Cinematography in a Theatrical Release: Emmanuel Lubezki for The Revenant
Lubezki was able to find great beauty in his images, in spite of the high complexity of his task: extended takes, natural lights.

(The field was, once more, top-notch; Ed Lachman’s work in Carol is also deserving of a shout-out.)
