Fifth about The Seventh

Entergalactic

Entergalactic: if on the one hand, the story of Fletcher Moules’ animated romantic comedy follows the rules of the genre pretty closely, on the other hand, it portrays one of the multiple facets of life in New York City very well. That, plus the choice of making it an animation with this particular aesthetics and Black sensibilities in mind, makes this more interesting and charming than the story suggests by itself. The film follows the romantic entanglements of a young artist as he gets a new job and moves to a fancy new apartment. The protagonists are well-voiced: Scott Mescudi plays the young artist, and Jessica Williams plays his photographer neighbor with great charm and chemistry. The animation is dynamic and colorful, with its general look echoing the urban art that is so relevant to the characters; the characters are distinctive and attractive. Good music.
