Fifth about The Seventh

Ticket to Paradise

Ticket to Paradise: while one may imagine where Ol Parker’s romantic comedy is going, that doesn’t change the fact that the film is entertaining every step of the way. It helps that the movie star wattage is off-the-charts, with Julia Roberts and George Clooney playing the loving but divorced parents that decide to sabotage their only daughter’s incoming wedding. They have great chemistry, exchanging barbs at warp speed and allowing for the comical reactions to register. Kaitlyn Dever plays their smart daughter with great charm, and Maxime Bouttier, as her perceptive and upstanding beau, is quite effective in the role as well. Billie Lourd could have been better used as the best friend, beyond being just comic relief. The Director of photography Ole Bratt Birkeland captures the paradisiacal locations nicely; the production design, by Owen Paterson, makes sure the interiors are as enticing as the outside.
