Preparations to Be Together for an Unknown Period of Time: the delightfully long title of Horvát Lili’s film strikes some hope, but also with the warning that it may not last. That fine balance is reflected in the tone of the romance, which has an unusual start and an almost otherworldly development from what almost could be called an unrequited obsession. The tone of the film is a bit too cold, a direct result of the professions of the prospective couple. Stork Natasa, with her piercing blue eyes, gives a subtly expressive performance, doing a lot with small changes in her facial expression; Bodó Viktor gives a cold performance, and he doesn’t quite have chemistry with his partner, but that is on purpose. The work of cinematographer Maly Róbert is very expressive, capturing Budapest with a look the matches the overall tone of the film.
