I’m Your Man: Maria Schrader’s science-fiction romance has an intriguing starting point and the possible romance between a scientist and a robot could have interesting things to say about the human condition and relationships, romantic or otherwise. However, in spite of being diverting enough, there isn’t much that is revolutionary in how the story unfurls or what it actually says. Maren Eggert is OK as the woman who is rather cynical about the experiment she embarks on; Dan Stevens is efficient (but a bit cliched) in his role as the robot, a charming and ideal man. The film’s aesthetics (cinematography, editing, production design, music) are fine, but nothing to write home about.
