My Little Sister: there’s naturally a great sense of sadness pervading in Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond’s little family drama; it goes beyond the love and worry between brother and sister, even if it all starts there. It’s not a joyful experience, even if the touching storytelling is well-constructed and the situation, believable. The pair of siblings is very well played by Nina Hoss and Lars Eidinger; she is the dedicated sister that will walk everything back if that will keep her beloved big brother around for longer, he is the man fighting a hard battle against a terrible disease. Aesthetically, the film is simple yet effective.
