Fifth about The Seventh

Icarus (2017)

Icarus: Bryan Fogel’s documentary may be one of the greatest examples of serendipity; as he set up to make one film (which would have already been, and in fact is, a fine look at the intricacies of sports doping), a happy accident puts something much larger, more impactful and powerful in his lap. The interviews and recorded footage are very efficient in displaying the extent and the details of the conspiracy at hand; it’s always interesting and staggering. Fogel himself fades away as a character, but Grigory Rodchenkov is more than a good replacement, a man who all of a sudden develops a conscience (or starts to fear for his safety). Very well-put together by the editing team.
