Fifth about The Seventh

Eye in the Sky (2015)

Eye in the SkyEye in the Sky: Gavin Hood’s film tells a story that shows that, no matter what, war always finds a way to continue to be a terrible thing. The film explores nicely the renewed conundrums that brand new warfare brings to the table; alas, it does so with a large gallery of cardboard, flat characters which are there merely to voice arguments from time to time. The cast is large and interesting, even if most are not given much to do: Helen Mirren is always solid, but the two that deserve more accolades are Aaron Paul and Phoebe Fox. Megan Gill’s editing manages to jump around all the threads in this story nicely; cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos incorporates a number of different types of cameras and angles in a way that makes sense to the story being told.
