Fifth about The Seventh

BlackhatBlackhat: Michael Mann’s film shows some glimpses of muscularity, but it’s ultimately a bloated, unengaging work. The situation doesn’t lend itself to a visually interesting development, so the plot advances mostly through clunky and heavy exposition; it’s no surprise that a lot of it doesn’t make much sense. Chris Hemsworth is OK, but Viola Davis is wasted; there’s not much to the characters, in any event. Stuart Dryburgh’s camerawork, despite some beautiful night shots here and there, is annoying; the handheld is too frantic and confusing, particularly for being excessively close to the action.
