The Secret in Their Eyes: Juan José Campanella has a very absorbing story in his hands (in fact, there are two intertwined stories) and the result is up to it. The mix of the stories (and genres) is organic, with an added sprinkle of humour for good measure. It is the beautiful acting by Soledad Villamil and Ricardo Darín (and a solid supporting turn by Guillermo Francella) that sells it so well. Beautifully shot by Félix Monti, who comes up with a great single-take shot for the ages (or the illusion of one, at least, which still amounts to much). The score by Federico Jusid and Emilio Kauderer is very alluring.
