Fifth about The Seventh

Everest (2015)

EverestEverest: Baltasar Kormákur’s film tells its sad tale carefully, respectfully, without great fanfare (but also without much originality); the story is already emotional by itself, so this distance is welcome. However, the distance also allows for little insight into the characters, so it all turns a little shallow. The cast is interesting, but not particularly challenged; Jason Clarke is given the slightly meatier role, and comes up well. Very well-put together; the beautiful, imposing setting is nicely captured by Salvatore Totino and the visual effects team.
