Brave: a revisit to this film confirms that the tale told by Brenda Chapman and Mark Andrews is heartfelt and exciting; the tone, however, particularly the brand of humor, is somewhat out of pace with the family themes presented. Nevertheless, the result is pleasurable and touching; the characters are well-defined and their relationships, easy to relate to. Voice-acting is top-notch, in particular Kelly Macdonald and Emma Thompson. Visually, this is a feast: the world, as well as the characters, is well designed, distinctive, colorful and full of life.
