Next stop in the 2012 awards tour is the WGA. It should be noted that I have not actually read the nominees, simply watched their rendition on the screen. (Not all of them, sadly. I’ll try to watch the one straggler soon, thought.)
It’s a great list, incidentally, particularly for Original Screenplay. (Comparing that list with this one will see a lot of names in common; that is not a coincidence. Good writing is the basis of good filmmaking, and it just so happens that I agree with their taste, this year at least.)
With that introduction out of the way, my ballot would be:
Best Adapted Screenplay: Lincoln, by Tony Kushner
Best Original Screenplay: Flight, John Gatins
