True Blood – Season 5: violent and profane as a series about vampires should be, given the characters. Of course, by now the visual tone is a given as the violence rarely goes astray from what was established in previous seasons. Storywise, this season is hit-and-miss (also, by now, a tradition); by expanding the universe both within (the Vampire Authority) and without (the Ifrit) the box, some of the unrelated stories feel not much more than gap-fillers; the main story line, however, is very interesting.
