Fifth about The Seventh

The Best Years of Our Lives

The Best Years of Our Lives: sporadically heavy-handed drama, its story falling squarely into the “important” category (even thought it’s pretty much a product of its own time, there’s some relevance in this day and age once more). Very well-shot (It was Gregg Toland doing the lensing after all). Acting is somewhat uneven, particularly early on before the characters settle in; Harold Russell presence is very earnest, but more inspirational than strong.
