How to Shoot a Ghost: Charlie Kaufman’s beautiful, poetic short film follows the ghosts of two recently deceased people in Athens, a photographer and a translator, who meet as they wander around town. It’s a deeply moving experience, made all the better by the exquisite acting of Jessie Buckley and Josef Akiki as the two ghosts in question. Director of photography Michal Dymek creates beautiful images, with the lensing just a bit off to show the otherworldly nature of the story. Composer Ella van der Woude’s musical score works the same way, and it’s immensely beautiful.
