Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl: Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham’s animated film follows the lovable pair of the silly inventor and his loyal and smart pet, as they face a plot from an old enemy. The film is wholesome, unpretentious, and always entertaining. The stop-motion animation, in clay, is typically lovely; the characters are well-designed, distinct, and attractive; the film is filled with visual gags, and the environments are also quite detailed and great to look at. Voice acting is efficient, with Ben Whitehead providing the voice of the well-meaning inventor; Peter Kay, as a police inspector, and Lauren Patel, as an energetic rookie policewoman, are also funny. The director of photography Dave Alex Riddett lights the sets nicely, with a good deal of dynamism. The music, by composers Lorne Balfe and Julian Nott, is a fine fit.
