Fifth about The Seventh

Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016)

Alice Through the Looking GlassAlice Through the Looking Glass: James Bobin’s film is exceedingly busy on all ends: the story is overcooked, trying to do too much but not succeeding in allowing a connection; the acting is large, stylized, annoying (particularly Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway and Sacha Baron Cohen; Mia Wasikowska, as the title character, is the only one that is bearable). Visually it’s busy as well, but there’s an undeniable craftmanship in display, both in Dan Hennah’s production design and Colleen Atwood’s costume design, colorfully captured by Stuart Dryburgh camerawork.
