Fifth about The Seventh

Creed (2015)

CreedCreed: Ryan Coogler’s film is able to mix a subdued, sweet and touching drama with exciting moments in the boxing fights; it’s even-handed in its treatment of the characters, avoiding overblown superfluous issues that would simply muddle the waters. Sylvester Stallone has a beautiful, dignified turn, but it is Michael B. Jordan that is the most impressive here, displaying intensity, sweetness and vulnerability in spades. Nicely put together; Maryse Alberti’s camerawork is solid throughout (and she captures one boxing match in a beautifully choreographed single take that skews away from the over-edited norm.)
