Labyrinth of Lies: Giulio Ricciarelli’s film falls in the trap of stories that are historically relevant or important (and this one, to be sure, is both): it’s told without great risks. The result is that there’s also no reward for it; the film is toothless, excessively didactic, dramatically flat (which makes it drag quite a bit). In short, quite uninteresting. Technically, it’s done competently, but it has the sort of art direction and costume deisgn that is too clean, artificial, all shot by Martin Langer and Roman Osin in soft, dreamy light.
