Fifth about The Seventh

The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E.The Man from UNCLE: Guy Ritchie manufactures a fun ride; it’s charming, slick and well-polished, even if expectedly bland. For better or for worse, the film would not look out-of-place in the 1960’s; Ritchie does not take the material too seriously, but neither does he make fun of it. The cast was very well-picked; Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer deliver nicely, but it’s Alicia Vikander that comes out on top. Production and costume design are beautifully done, nicely captured by John Mathieson. James Herbert’s editing doesn’t fully trust the viewer, explaining too much at times. The soundtrack has quite a few nice tunes.
