In Order of Disappearance: Hans Petter Moland tells a somewhat common, tired story, which is generally entertaining in a low-key way; the dry, almost modest sense of humor and the unusual setting are what set this film a bit apart from other similar work. The gallery of characters is just off-kilter enough to be novel without reaching the level of ridicule; the cast modulates this efficiently, particularly this most recognizable faces, Stellan Skarsgård and Bruno Ganz. Philip Øgaard’s images are, likewise, cold, efficient, but unremarkable.
